Brother Pleater Ruffler Attachment

This is a considered purchase price wise but the effects you can create with it are fantastic. It is a little overwhelming when you first see the instructions for use, but taking one step at a time is quite easy. There is plenty of scope for adjustment to fit your machine as well as the size of pleats and ruffles to make and hem size. There is also an option for straight stitching so you can do the pleats/ruffles in sections with plain stitching in-between without changing feet and without stopping and starting. I finally bought this after trying a cheaper universal ruffler which was a nightmare and worked for about 10 mins! This foot is expensive but worth it in my opinion as it makes gorgeous ruffles and pleats once you get it set up correctly. I was having problems with skipped stitches, and the needle kept working loose, but after I changed the needle it worked fine. I still have to check the needle clamp screw hasn't loosened if I have used it for a while but apart from that it works great. You can not go fast with this foot, a slower setting is needed so you don' run into trouble. Overall I am very happy with it. (Posted on 12/6/11)
