The machine has thirty stitches, including six buttonholes which gives you the essential variety for your diverse sewing needs. Also includes all of the features allowing you to sew with precision and confidence. Although it is a portable machine and quite light and easy to carry, It will take heavier fabrics with ease, such as denim and leather. All buttonholes are sewn in one step at the touch of a button, you simply attach the buttonhole foot, pop your button in the back of the foot, pull a tab down and then put your foot on the pedal and watch it create the buttonhole thats perfect to the size of the button you've chosen! Also with this feature you can guarantee that every buttonhole will be accurate and the same as the last.

The Janome 8077 has a top loading bobbin with clear plastic bobbin cover, this allows you to easily check the amount of thread left on your bobbin, even if your doing a large piece of work. It also gives you easy access to the bobbin, without having to take the free arm storage compartment off the front. The thread cutter, which will cut and holds threads, ready for you to start sewing.

It also has a 7 Piece Feed Dog, this allows you to sew from the very edge of the fabric and helps keep your stitches consistent and looking good.

The machine has a free arm but also has an extension on the front and back around the free arm to allow you to do larger pieces of work and also doubles up as handy storage keeping all your essential sewing machine parts safe (bobbins, needles, Quick unpick)

It's very easy to use, with features such as snap on feet. Most of the feet for the machine just snap on and off, all you have to do is push the red button on the back of the shank to release the feet and lower the shank down for the feet to clip into place again.
