An old pastime of making quilts has been revolutionised by the introduction of specialist sewing machines. The Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.0 is at the top of this list as being one of the most desired, by quilt making professionals. We even use these machines in our quilting classes.

With IDT dual feed, it assures flawless non slip stitching every time when quilting or sewing super light or heavy brocade fabrics. Included are a beautiful selection of 222 stitches featuring regular utility, quilt, hemstitch, cross stitch and 9 mm wide decorative stitches. With tapering, its possible to flip the stitch side to side and/or end to end for even more creative possibilities.

The original IDT feed system guarantees absolutely even fabric feed from top and bottom.


Every stitch is controlled by the computerised sewing machine, which even alerts you when the bobbin is about to run out of thread. You can combine and save up to 40 stitches and/or letters in any of the 20 personal stitch memories. Setting the automatic tie-off or snipping the top/bottom threads can also be programmed into a personal memory along with letters from it's three alphabets.

A powerful quilting machine is necessary, but it needs to be controllable. The needle-piercing power is electronically controlled and is consistent even when sewing slowly or through several layers of fabric and the electronic speed pedal leaves you in control.

The thread snip feature cuts the top and bottom thread at the touch of a button which means you use less thread and the electronic knee lift raises the presser foot with one easy movement, allowing your hands to be free, making any sewing project so much more pleasurable. When its time for free-hand embroidery or stippling, choose from two free motion sewing modes, sensormatic or spring foot, depending on techniques and fabric being used.

Electronic features like automatic tie-off at the start or end of a seam, save time, as does the presser foot rising after the thread cutter is operated. When using the twin needle program, it automatically adjusts the stitch width to prevent needle breakage and of course, you select if you would like the machine to stop with its needle up or down, ready for pivoting..!
