The
Integrated Dual Feed System or IDT System*
Fabric slippage can occur when sewing long seams. Bunching can be a
problem when sewing thin fabrics. These effects are not only
unprofessional, they can ruin the look and fit of garments and other
projects. That’s why, 30 years ago, Pfaff developed an exclusive
system that eliminates fabric slippage.
The principle is simple: the fabric is fed from above as well as
below. By moving the top and bottom fabric at the same rate, slippage
is eliminated. Today, the IDT System can be found in most Pfaff sewing
machines.
The longer the seam the greater the possibility of movement.
When sewing long pieces of fabric, such as curtains, the IDT feeds
both layers evenly along the entire length. There is no slippage!
Whisper thin fabrics, like silk and chiffon , The IDT ensures perfect
fabric fed. No puckered seams or shifted layers.
