Use Shirring/Gathering Foot to gather one fabric while joining it to a flat piece of fabric.

Set machine for a 4-thread overedge seam.

Set the differential feed to 2.

Place fabric to be gathered under foot, right side up.

Place flat fabric into slot on foot, right side down.

Sew first stitches by hand, using handwheel. Continue sewing, using right hand to hold upper fabric and left hand to hold lower fabric.
