Snap on gathering foot by hooking rear bar of foot onto rear groove of foot shank. Push foot up until it snaps onto front bar.

Place fabric to be gathered under presser foot, right side up.

Hold fabric slightly taut while sewing. The more pull, the greater the gathering effect.

Guide fabric edge evenly through foot.

Snap off gathering foot by pushing front down and removing in direction of presser foot shank groove at back.

Tip: Achieve tighter gathers by increasing needle thread tension and stitch length. Foot can also be used to gather one fabric while attaching it to a flat piece of fabric.

Stitch: Straight stitch

Stitch Length: 4 - 6

Tension: -5+
