Mark length of zipper on right side of fabric and both sides of opening. Zipper should be at least 3/4 inch to 1 1/4 inch longer than opening.
Select straight stitch, middle needle position and stitch length to 2.5 to 3.0 mm.
Open zipper and flatten coil with your thumb so that seam line between tape and coil becomes visible.
Place right half of zipper onto right side of opening, right sides together. Coil lies directly on seam line, starting 5/8 inch to 3/4 inch below upper edge of fabric. Zipper end extends 3/4 inch to 1 1/4 inch below end of opening.
Carefully press teeth slightly to right and lower zipper foot so coil lies in groove to right of needle.
Starting at top, sew zipper in place, stopping at marked end of opening. Tie-off end of seam. Close zipper.
Place second zipper tape on left side of opening, on right side of fabric, both coils level.
Pin zipper in place and open.
Carefully press teeth slightly to left and lower zipper foot so coil lies in groove to right of needle.
Starting at top, sew zipper in place, stopping at end of opening. Tie-off end of seam. Close zipper.
